Trump Vows to Mediate Between Afghanistan, Pakistan
Speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One during his flight to Israel, Trump stated, “This will be my eighth war that I've solved, and I hear there's a war now going on between Pakistan and Afghanistan.”
Trump explained that he would address the issue upon his return, mentioning, “I said I'll have to wait till I get back. I'm doing another one. Because I'm good at solving wars, I'm good at making peace, and it's an honor to do it. I saved millions of lives, millions of lives.”
The violent exchanges overnight resulted in the deaths of numerous soldiers from both Pakistan and Afghanistan, marking some of the most severe clashes since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan in 2021, according to confirmations from both parties on Sunday.
This recent spike in tensions followed accusations from Afghanistan’s interim Taliban government, which alleged that the Pakistani military breached Afghan airspace and conducted bombings in a marketplace located in the Margha area of Paktika province, which lies along the border with Pakistan, late Thursday night.
President Trump is scheduled to arrive in Israel on Monday, where he plans to meet with relatives of Israeli detainees and deliver a speech to the Knesset, Israel’s parliament.
