Thirty-four militants get killed during security campaigns in Pakistan
According to official military statements, the operations took place between October 13 and 15 across the Bannu, North Waziristan, and South Waziristan districts. In an intelligence-driven mission in Spinwam, North Waziristan, security forces killed 18 militants, while another eight were killed in South Waziristan. A separate encounter in Bannu district resulted in the neutralization of an additional eight militants.
Last week, the army reported killing at least 30 militants in Orakzai district, all allegedly linked to a recent attack on security personnel.
Officials have highlighted a broader trend of rising militant activity in the region. Authorities in Pakistan claim that elements of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have been operating from Afghan territory to carry out attacks, a charge that Afghanistan denies, maintaining that it is committed to preventing cross-border militant activity.
